Relations between Netanya and Dnipro have grown stronger in recent years. On 6 June 2024, a Memorandum of Understanding on Friendly Relations and Cooperation was signed in Netanya by Miriam Fierberg-Ikar, Mayor of Netanya, and Volodymyr Miller, Deputy Mayor of Dnipro and Director of the Department of Economy, Finance and City Budget.
Dnipro is the fourth-largest city in Ukraine and one of the country’s leading economic, industrial, academic, and technological centers. Located on the banks of the Dnipro River, the city continues to play a central role in Ukraine’s economic development and regional recovery. Dnipro has a population of approximately 950,000.
The city is a major center for industry, innovation, engineering, transportation, and higher education. It is home to leading universities, research institutions, innovation centers, and advanced technology companies, making it one of Ukraine’s most important regional hubs.
The Memorandum of Understanding aims to promote cooperation in the fields of tourism, economy, culture, science, technology, sport, transportation, environmental protection, trade, and industry, as well as education, local governance, sustainable urban development, sustainability, safety, and emergency preparedness.
The cooperation between Netanya and Dnipro is based on the principles of friendship, equality, and mutual benefit, with the goal of encouraging the exchange of knowledge, professional experience, and joint initiatives for the benefit of both cities.
