An international festival marking the 100th anniversary of the birth of Czech-Jewish writer Arnošt Lustig is coming to Israel. As part of the festival, the traveling exhibition “I Want to Be Human” will be presented at Planetanya in Netanya.
The exhibition brings the humanistic message of Lustig, one of the most important figures in 20th-century Czech literature, and invites visitors to reflect on humanity, responsibility, and the good in every person. As Lustig said, “Goodness is expressed through our actions.”
The festive opening will take place on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at 18:00, in the presence of Netanya Mayor Avi Salama, diplomatic representatives from Israel and the Czech Republic, Eva Lustigová, CEO of the Arnošt Lustig Foundation, and other distinguished guests.
