When Netanya’s founders established the city on the sands of the Sharon Plain in 1929, they envisioned far more than an agricultural settlement. At the heart of the city stands the Netanya Cultural Center, inaugurated in 1988 and serving as the city’s leading cultural venue. The Cultural Center regularly hosts many of Israel’s newest and most acclaimed theatre productions, alongside concerts, art exhibitions, lectures, festivals and subscription series.
