Ancient Persian music constitutes the musical root of other musical cultures of the East and the Maghreb. It was there that the first foundations of the world of maqam were laid, which spread to other oriental and Arab countries.
For the first time on the stage of the Israeli Andalusian Orchestra, a unique concert which brings together four key musicians of Persian music, from ancient to modern.
Iranian-born Sahba Motallebi, a world-renowned Persian tar player who has performed alongside the greatest Persian musicians over the past decades, and Reza Mohsenipour will meet leading Israeli artists Liraz Tcharki. Liraz has been reviving Persian poetry in recent years and making an exciting international career, and Nissim Lugasi – a master of Persian poetry, considered one of the most important voices in the field today.
