What is the connection between a sea, a pool, and an air conditioner, and – an eagle, a swan and… a harp? So maybe it doesn’t seem the most related to us, but all these things symbolize one thing – summer.
In the old days, the heavenly summer triangle consisting of the constellations: eagle, swan and harp – marked the imminent arrival of summer and the beginning of the harvest season. Nowadays, the summer triangle is used less as an agricultural calendar, and more as a preparation and rubbing of the astronomical senses for the summer sky.
Join us on a journey through these three interesting groups and it looks like they could be more than a celestial calendar, we’ll pass by the spectacular objects in this area of the sky – get your binoculars ready. After the show there will be a telescope observation – subject to weather conditions.
The show is in collaboration with the Israeli Astronomical Society – and is delivered by Nadav Rotenberg, the chairman of the society. Suitable for ages 14+
