Stavanger – Norway

A twin city agreement was signed on 16/04/97 by Mayor Zvi Poleg. The City of Stavanger is situated in the county of Rogaland. It was established on January 1st 1838 and merged with the villages of Hetland and Madla on January 1st 1965. Today the city hosts a population of 121,000 residents.

Based in the Rogaland county – the origin of the name is “Inlet”  which relates to the shape of the bay. It is one of the leading off shore oil industry and  is growing rapidly. It is considered as the oil capital of Norway. The city is divided into seven counties: Hundvוg,Tasta ,Eiganes og Valand , MadlaStorhaugHillevוgHinnaand is the capital of the metropolitan. The city is a combination of old and new influences, with the main industries being ship building, oil industry and fish industry.

Sanremo – Italy

The Mayor of Netanya, Miriam Fierberg-Ikar, as well as the Mayor of San Remo in Italy, Alberto Biancheri, signed on June 15, 2022 a cooperation agreement in the field of culture and tourism between the two cities.

Peja, Kosovo

The signing ceremony was held in the presence of the ambassador of Kosovo in Israel, the ambassador of Israel in Kosovo, a minister in the government of Kosovo and of course the mayor of Peja (the first agreement signed between a city in Kosovo and a city in Israel).

The city signed Twin Cities agreement with Netanya on April 24th  2023
