Let it be light! Happy Hanukka!

This festive time has a special meaning – a small light can win over big darkness!

Hanukka is a real test of strong will – during the festive days we usually eat potato fritters and donuts – both are fried in deep oil in order to remember Hanukka miracle when a small lamp burned eight days – instead of one day, considering the amount of oil it contained.

Even those with a strong will power eat at least one donut during Hanukka and during last years this became “high gastronomy”. Coffee shops and Delis will offer you fluffy donuts with a crispy cover, concentrated milk, nuts filling, amaretto etc. if you do not try ALL of them you will probably try one and still have room for fritters.

Classic fritters are based on potatoes to which one can add sweet potatoes, carrots, garlic or dill – all depending on taste & imagination!

Have a happy holiday!
