Netanya City Market
Summer 2020
In the Netanya market and in all fruit shops the ripe figs are displayed and remind us that summer is, slowly, coming to an end.
Red or green, large or small they are all delicious.
The fig is a Middle Eastern and Mediterranean fruit that likes water – therefor its roots are very deep and stretch to distances.
Figs should be eaten right after they are being picked – they do not ripen afterward. Figs should not be frozen – they can be dried, though.
They contain calcium, potassium, magnesium, and fruit sugars!
Their time in the markets is very short…go & get them!
Enjoy!
