Utopia Orchid Park and Kakun Park
Description
We start our journey at the Utopia Orchid Park in Kibbutz Bahan.
This is one of the few parks in the world which combines orchids, carnivorous plants, birds, fish, water plants and other exotic tropical plants in a tropical rain forest environment. From there we can proceed to the old crusaders’ fortress situated at the Kakun ruins.
The fortress dominated the route from Caesarea to Nablus and was conquered by Napoleon in his mission to the east on 1799. The park has been well reconstructed and it offers a good view of the entire valley. There is a picnic area and tables. The entrance is from the road connecting Gan Yoshia to Amatz.
