Iaşi - Romania

A twin city agreement was signed 20/09/05 by Mayor Miriam Fierberg – Ikar.

Iasi is officially declared as the historical capital of Romania as well as the capital of Iasi province and principality of Moldavia, located in North –Eastern Romania. It is a center of Education and Research. The city’s population is 450,000 people (as of 2006) and is the third largest Romanian city. The city hosts a large number of academic institutes. The Iasi University is named after Prince Alexandru Ioan Cuza who established it in 1860, and is the first Romanian University. Iasi boasts well known, expansive parks such at the Copou Park, the lively botanical garden and others.

Another famous attraction is the Union Square (Piata Unirii) surrounded by hotels and decorated with fountains and greenery. Here you will find the National Theater and the Trei Lerarchi Chapel, with a Star of David embedded into one of its walls.

Sanremo – Italy

The Mayor of Netanya, Miriam Fierberg-Ikar, as well as the Mayor of San Remo in Italy, Alberto Biancheri, signed on June 15, 2022 a cooperation agreement in the field of culture and tourism between the two cities.

Peja, Kosovo

The signing ceremony was held in the presence of the ambassador of Kosovo in Israel, the ambassador of Israel in Kosovo, a minister in the government of Kosovo and of course the mayor of Peja (the first agreement signed between a city in Kosovo and a city in Israel).

Changzhou

The city signed Twin Cities agreement with Netanya on April 24th  2023
